2012 Miss Universe Yorkshire contestants support Leeds breast cancer charity

CONTESTANTS in the Miss Universe Yorkshire 2012 competition took time out from preparing for this week’s finals to support a Leeds breast cancer charity.

The Haven, based in Leeds city centre, is the chosen charity of the 2012 Yorkshire heats and contestants have been busy raising money in the run-up to the finals on Wednesday.

Ieva Dubova, pictured, a kitchen showroom design assistant from Sheffield, organised a series of fundraisers for The Haven and the Hemraj Goyal Foundation, which works with people with breast cancer.

The 25-year-old is now busy preparing for Wednesday’s competition, which takes place at the Hilton Hotel in Bradford.

The winner will qualify for Miss Universe Great Britain next month.

Ieva said: “I’m trying to raise £1,500. I have always loved helping people – no one becomes poor by giving.”
